Ghost - Phish
7.23.97 - Lakewood Amphitheater, Atlanta, GAIf you haven’t heard this Ghost, you’ve been missing out. It finds Phish not only at their peak for with this song, but also in full force in the middle of perhaps their pinnacle summer tour. The funk is oozing fast and hard from the beginning of this one, and quickly morphs into some super smooth, spacey disco goodness. From there it’s just GAME ON, with the hose coming at you full force. This is Phish at its phinest.
OK, so like Hampton is a week away. And I wasn’t shelling out $300 for tickets (a guy in my office just sold two for Friday for $900 which is completely insane — tickets almost never get more expensive.) But I do have both nights of Jones Beach, Great Woods, and Camden in my desk which eases the pain. As does this jam.
